Nedlands Studio is the perfect rehearsal space for bands in the Northern Rivers, or touring acts in the Byron Bay Hinterland area looking for a place to rehearse. All essential equipment is provided in a chilled South Lismore location overlooking farmlands. Nedlands is a purpose built room inside a large shed space with a removable front wall and stage for hosting underground live shows.

Small Project Grants for Individuals

Small Project Grants (Quick Response) support the creation, development and presentation of new work and professional development opportunities for NSW-based professional artists, groups and arts and cultural workers (including museum workers). You can apply for funding from $500 up to $5000.

Crisis Relief Grants

Crisis Relief Grants and support are available to musicians, managers, crew and music workers across all genres experiencing financial hardship as the result of illness, injury, mental health, older age or another current crisis that is impacting their ability to work in music. Grants are assessed for a current issue impacting ability to work in music and, if approved, will be provided through direct payment of bills or other personal expenses related to the crisis, rather than cash grants. Evidence of a current crisis will be required.

Space to Create II: Music Residency

An intensive residential program that provides First Nations creatives at all levels with studio space, mentoring, production support + more. Space to Create is an intensive music industry residential program. The delivery of the program will be flexible and adapted to each of the participants’ requirements. The aim of the program is to create a dedicated space so each of the participants can take the time to sustain and grow creative ideas including composition, voice coaching, strengthen technical skills and to provide professional development opportunities for the future. The program is open to emerging through to established First Nations musicians, artists, songwriters, audio engineers, producers and those employed in the music industry. The program will be delivered in partnership with the Australian National University’s School of Music and the Yil Lull recording studio. ‘The studio is named after the song Yil Lull by legendary First Nations musician Joe Geia, to honour his standing in the industry, and is used with his permission.’

RAF | Quick Response Grants

Quick Response Grants will now be delivered monthly from February to November and all applications will be competitively assessed at the end of each month, you will not be advised about your grant application until five days after the end of each month. There are also changes to the amount you can apply for under this program. Individuals can apply for up to $3000, organisations can apply for up to $5000. There is no minimum grant amount. There is a limited amount in this funding pool, so please ensure your budgets are accurate and you are only applying for the amount that you actually need.

We are your local music school.. offering one-on-one tuition for guitar, drums, bass, piano, vocals, flute, ukulele, studio, music production and more. Our tutors are all experienced and accredited educators (with current WWCC) who are committed to bringing out the musical goodness of each individual student. Lessons are tailored for beginners to advanced and children through to adults. Most of our teachers accept Creative Kids NSW vouchers. Look through the timetable for the lesson you're interested in and contact the teacher directly. Our teachers would love to hear form you.
