About the event
If you’ve ever sat behind the faders thinking “I’ve done everything I can — why doesn’t it sound right yet?” — this workshop is for you.
The Art of Mixing is a practical, in-person session designed to help self-producing artists, music producers, and emerging sound engineers gain clarity around the mixing process.
>>This workshop focuses on Level Balancing, one of the most powerful tools in mixing! Learn how balancing levels differently can solve many EQ & compression issues at the source. A well-balanced mix connects the instruments musically and naturally. Once the levels are balanced, the mix starts speaking to the listener's heart.
Stop fighting your plugins. There is an easier, more enjoyable way, and I'd like to show you how.<<
Over two hours, you’ll learn how to shape your mix from rough to release-ready — without getting stuck in endless tweaking or second-guessing.
You’ll walk away with a clearer understanding of:
What really makes a mix sound “finished”
The key stages of a professional mixing workflow
Where to focus your time and attention
Common traps that slow things down — and how to avoid them
Instead of vague theory or hyping plugins, I’ll open up a real mix session from my own work and show you around — step by step. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how I structure, balance, and refine a track, and I’ll explain the decisions I’m making along the way.
Whether you're mixing your own music, working with other artists, or still figuring out how to pull a song together — this session will give you tools to work faster and mix with more confidence.
✅ Who this workshop is for
Self-producing musicians who want their mixes to sound more professional
Music producers looking to sharpen their ears and improve their process
Up-and-coming sound engineers who want practical insight into modern mix workflows
Genres covered include rock, funk, soul, indie, folk, reggae, country, singer-songwriter, roots, blues, jazz — and anything performed by humans using real instruments.
🚫 Who it's not for
If your music is primarily beat-driven, sample-based, or electronic (EDM, trap, techno, etc.), this particular session won’t be the best fit. (Different tools, different workflows.)
What you’ll take away:
A better understanding of how to structure your mixing workflow
Insight into how pro engineers make decisions
Clarity on what to prioritise — and what to stop obsessing over
Practical tips you can apply straight away in your own studio
