About the event
Are you a self-producing musician struggling to finish your mixes? Are you tired of endless tweaking, second-guessing, and getting stuck in frustrating mix sessions?
Mixing Without Misery is an in-person studio workshop designed to help you break free from the frustration that often comes with mixing your music. In this studio workshop (limited to just 6 participants), you'll learn how to move from stuck and overwhelmed to focused and productive — a state I call mix flow.
Hosted at Mix Artist Studio in Mullumbimby, this 2-hour workshop is perfect for self-producing musicians who want to improve their mixing skills, gain clarity, and receive honest, practical feedback on their own work.
✅ Who this workshop is for:
This studio workshop is tailored to self-producing musicians working in genres that are performed by humans — including rock, funk, soul, reggae, folk, country, jazz, blues, indie, singer-songwriter, roots, and more.
If your music includes performances on drums, bass, percussion, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, vocals, horns, or other real instruments, this workshop is designed for you.
🚫 Who this workshop is not for:
This is not a suitable workshop for EDM producers or anyone working primarily with synths, loops, beats, or virtual instruments. If your mix contains little or no live instrument performance, this particular session won't be the best fit.
What you’ll gain:
Insight into why mixing often feels like a struggle
Proven strategies to simplify your mixing workflow
Personalised suggestions on your mix-in-progress (bring your session!)
Tools to help you finish tracks faster — with better results
