2025 - 10: AU$30,000 Music Grant for NSW Artists Closes Soon - Apply Before It’s Too Late!

Updated: 3 days ago

Mix Artist Studio Newsletter October 2025

Dear Artists and Music Creators,

If you’ve been thinking about recording new music or promoting your next release, now’s the time to act.

Applications are closing soon for the NSW Contemporary Music Development Grants – Recording, Content and Promotion program, which offers up to AU$30,000 to support the creation and release of original contemporary music.

This is a brilliant opportunity for NSW-based artists to fund studio time, mixing, mastering, video production, or marketing - and I'm here to help you make the most of it.

What this grant supports

  • Recording, mixing, mastering, and content creation (video, photo, artwork, etc.)

  • Publicity, marketing, and promotional campaigns

  • Manufacturing physical products (CDs, vinyl)

  • Professional development and collaboration with producers or studios

Who’s eligible

You’re eligible to apply for this music grant if:

  • You (or at least half your band) have lived in NSW for 12+ months

  • You create and perform original contemporary music

  • You have at least one previous release available on streaming platforms

  • You can contribute roughly 30% of the project cost yourself

Tips for writing a strong music grant application

Here are a few pointers to help your application stand out:

  1. Tell your story clearly. Explain who you are, what you’ve achieved, and why this project matters right now.

  2. Show your momentum. Describe how the grant will help you grow your career, not just fund what you’d do anyway.

  3. Be specific. Outline your recording, mixing, or promotional plans, who’s involved, and your timeline.

  4. Justify your budget. Itemise everything clearly—studio hire, engineering, mastering, PR, manufacturing—and show your co-contribution.

  5. Keep it polished. Proofread everything and get feedback before submitting. A clear, confident application always reads better.
