Dear Artists and Music Creators,
I want to give you a heads-up about something special that’s opening soon at Mix Artist Studio.
In one week’s time, applications will open for Play · Perform · Record - a rare opportunity for musicians who love playing music together and want to capture something real, honest, and lasting.
I’ve run this program once before, many months ago. And it may be a long time before I offer it again.
Why this exists
Play · Perform · Record exists for very specific reasons. I love capturing the magic that only happens when musicians play together - and I’ve seen how much great music never gets recorded properly. Not because it isn’t good enough, but because:
full-scale recording feels financially out of reach
projects stall halfway through
or the process becomes more technical than musical
Play · Perform · Record removes that barrier. It’s a rare chance to create a world-class recording and mix - at half the cost - without compromising on quality, care, or musical intent.
This program is for musicians who:
enjoy playing with other musicians
value feel, dynamics, and interaction
want to record real instruments in a real room
care more about musical connection than MIDI, loops, or programming
(If your workflow lives mainly inside a DAW with samples and sequences, this program likely isn’t the right fit - and that’s okay.)
Only one project will be selected. The artist or group will be chosen by our studio staff and notified via email one week after applications close.
